Research, Current
"WorkCover." WorkCover is a project designed to examine the evaluation process used by clinicians to determine levels of psychiatric disability amongst injured workers in Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania. The results of the project will be used to develop more standardized and reliable scales for future determinations by clinicians in those regions.

An examination of physician attitudes towards physician assisted suicide. Advisor: Renee Binder, M.D.

Research, Medical School
"The Causes and Prevention of Fatal Accidents In Children." (Independent Study Project) Reviews of the coroner's records of accidental deaths in children were used to identify common causes of premature death in this population and methods to prevent such deaths were proposed. Advisors: Brian Blackbourne, M.D.; David Hoyt, M.D., F.A.C.S.

"Gene Repair in Early Development." (Honors Thesis) The zygotes of the sea urchin S. Purpuratus were investigated as a model system for studying the mechanisms of DNA repair in specific gene sequences of developing organisms. Advisor: Philip Hanawalt, Ph.D.
