07/09 - 06/10  University of California, San Francisco, Department of Psychiatry; research associate, Mardi Horowitz, M.D. Characterized and analyzed the mechanisms of change in a psychotherapy consultation service.

07/04 - 06/05  University of California, San Francisco, Department of Neurology; research fellow, Samuel Pleasure, M.D., Ph.D. Investigated the role of the chemokine SDF-1 and its receptor CXCR4 in the development of the mammalian hippocampal formation, as well as the role of these molecules in neurogenesis in this brain structure.

06/02 - 09/02  University of California, San Francisco, Department of Psychiatry; research fellow, Sophia Vinogradov, M.D. Investigated relationships between volumes of brain structures as measured by magnetic resonance imaging and performance on neuropsychiatric testing in individuals with schizophrenia and healthy controls.

Curriculum Development

2009 - 2010  Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Training Map; developed a map for how psychodynamic psychotherapy competencies are acquired through residency training, and a proposed curriculum for how to teach these.

2009 - 2010  Time Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy Curriculum; developed a curriculum consisting of eight lectures to introduce PGY-2 residents to time-limited dynamic psychotherapy.
